The South Boston Arts Association will sponsor a semiannual neighborhood poetry reading Saturday, October 22,, 1:30 p.m., South Boston Library, E. Broadway, South Boston. The event is free and open to the public. The poetry reading will be chaired by Dorothy Morris, local poet. You are invited to read one or two poems of your own or of a favorite poet. Refreshments will be served.

On September 22, 2016, SBAA members and Billy Higgins, Center Director dedicated the mural created at the Harry McDonough Sailing Center at Castle Island by artists: Janette Chaparro, Paul Conley, Claire Conway, Dennis Conway, Billy Frew, Dan McCole, Don Mejra, Debby O’Toole, Patti Steiner and Tom Steiner. The painting is a replica of the painting 'Landing the Curragh' by Irish artist John Skelton. The work is in keeping with the mission of the members of the association to advance all ...
